Barrington Native Fills Top Webster Post

A Barrington native has been named a vice president for government and institutional banking for Webster Bank.

Xay Khamsyvoravong has joined Webster's regional headquarters in Providence. He comes back to Rhode Island from Manhattan, where he worked for Morgan Stanley’s public finance investment banking group. 

Prior to that post, he served as deputy chief of staff to Rhode Island General Treasurer Frank T. Caprio for the majority of the treasurer’s tenure.

Webster's Government and Institutional Banking group provides financial advisory services, depository products, cash management and direct lending services to public entities and not-for-profit customers with revenues greater than $10 million across Webster's four-state footprint.

Xay earned his bachelor’s degree in international relations from Brown University and his master’s degree from Brown University’s Taubman Center for Public Policy.  He is a past recipient of undergraduate fellowships from Yale Law School’s Arthur Liman Public Interest Fund and Harvard Law School’s Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising.
