'Miss Representation' to Air in Library

Award-winning documentary film airs in the Barrington library; it explores the premise that misrepresentations of women have a significant impact on their ability to have influence.

The Sundance award-winning documentary film, “Miss Representation,” will be shown in the Barrington library auditorium Tuesday evening, June 5.

The film explores the premise that misrepresentations of women in the media have led to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence. It is being presented by The BAY Team and RI-NOW starting at 7 pm.

The film premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. It also was aired on OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Seating will be first-come, first-serve. The film is considred age-appropriate for seventh-graders and older.

Bring your old cell phone with you. It will be refurbished and donated to shelters for abused women.
