ABBEY RHODE / RICK, ANDY AND JUDY

Bristol's Stone Church Coffee House opens its 8th season on September 27th with a tribute evening to The Beatles and Peter, Paul and Mary

Abbey Rhode is a band from Newport RI who play the songs and sounds of the Beatles. Abbey Rhode has drawn record breaking crowds locally, and now they are gaining popularity throughout the New England region.

The band consists of four stellar musicians. The members of Abbey Rhode are Ray Davis (bass & vocals), John Flanders (guitar, keyboards & vocals), Mike Jackson (drums), and Kevin Sullivan (guitar, keyboards & vocals). They all have their own unique and colorful story of their musical careers. Each member has a story to tell and each story is interesting in itself. The diversity of experience in this group makes Abbey Rhode, as a whole, a charming and entertaining experience.

An evening with Abbey Rhode will transport you through all the many musical styles of the Beatles, from the early songs like “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and the country-flavored “Honey Don’t” to rockers like “Get Back, “ and later songs like “A Day In The Life” and “Hey Jude.” You’ll enjoy the intimate, nostalgic atmosphere and you will be up dancing and singing along! Without the wigs, accents, and costumes of a tribute band, this is Abbey Rhode - bringing great Beatles music to life.

Rick, Andy and Judy are a Peter, Paul and Mary tribute band. For more than fifty years, the music of Peter, Paul and Mary has given us the opportunity to think, look into ourselves , and sing along with eager voices. In tribute to this musical legacy, Rick Fetters, Andy Daigle and Judy Daigle have brought back to life this wonderful catalog of music with their performances.

It was then, back in the early 60’s, the hotbed of artistic expression, that Rick Fetters had the experience of meeting and mingling with Peter, Paul and Mary in Greenwich Village, eventually collaborating with the group and their music. Andy Daigle has been a long-time fan and student of their music. As his musical journey has grown, Andy has come to appreciate the quality of their work. Judy Daigle was first introduced to Peter, Paul and Mary by listening to her mother’s “In the Wind” album. However, “Stewball” is her favorite.
