Bristol Privatizes Trash Pick-up.... but KEEPS Employees?

Aren't the salaries, benefits, etc. one of the prime reasons to privatize?

I was wondering if anyone else thought it was odd, or missing the point, when Bristol announced that they would be privatizing their trash pick-up ... but would be KEEPING the employees. Aren't the salaries, benefits, etc. one of the prime reasons to privatize?

On another note, Woonsocket has recently completed a recertification of all employees receiving health care benefits and found many individuals who were no longer working for the town, children who had grown too old to qualify, as well as people who were deceased, were still on the rolls. I would love to see this done in Bristol.

Any thoughts?
