Bristol Police Seize Cocaine, Narcotics from Bristol Home
Bristol Police arrested a Bristol man last week on three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
A Bristol resident faces felony charges after allegedly found cocaine, and several other narcotics in his home.
According to police, at 7 pm on Feb. 3, officers observed Manuel Chaves, 33, of 21 Peckham Place, seated in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle in the parking lot behind the Cup Defenders Association on Wood Street. Upon search, police allegedly located and confiscated two grams of cocaine in his possession. Police also arrested Durval Cordeiro, 41, of 6 Third Street, who was sitting in the rear of the vehicle for possession of methadone.
According to a release, Bristol Police officers later executed a search warrant at Chaves' home and allegedly confiscated 50 grams of cocaine, oxycodone, methadone, illegal steroids including Dianabol, numerous prescription pills, scales ledgers, cell phones, computers, and $672 in cash. Police say the cocaine seized from Chaves' home has an estimated street value of $3,000.

Chaves was arraigned on Feb. 4 by Bail Commissioner John Rego, held without bail and transferred to the ACI.
According to police, Chaves is known to the Bristol Police Department and currently has pending illegal narcotic charges in Bristol, Warren and Middletown. In February of 2011, Chaves was arrested by Warren Police after allegedly being caught dealing marijuana.

Officers involved in the investigation include Lt. Scott McNally, Sgt. Steven St. Pierre, Sgt. Paul Medeiros, Ptlm. Gregory Silvia, Ptlm. Brett Estrella and Ptlm. Timothy Kearns.
