Blithewold Manor, Gardens & Arboretum

This drawing class will focus on subjects from nature: flowers, trees, and landscape. Each week, a topic will be presented to introduce a variety of methods and materials. Individual expression and creative applications will be reinforced to produce individual results. Observational drawing, botanical drawings, and elements of art will be covered. Blithewold’s gardens and arboretum inspire the classwork.
The main material will be colored pencil with various options for multi-media. Materials will be provided. Students of all abilities are encouraged to attend.

BRISTOL COUNTY CHORUS PREPARING FOR THEIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Come sing with us! Bristol County Chorus is a community chorus based in Bristol, Rhode Island that performs both a classical and contemporary repertoire. The BCC is a fantastic opportunity for singers of all levels. Our members are a group of singers who bring diverse musical experiences and backgrounds to the group and share a love of choral music. We have singers who are just starting out, and others who have been singing in choirs for years. Regardless of background or experience, our singers possess a passion for bringing quality music to the community. We strive to serve and to foster community by hosting our annual Christmas concert, accompanied each holiday season by a professional orchestra. We also participate in civic events such as the Bristol Fourth of July Concerts Series.
Join the Bristol County Chorus for their 45th season as they prepare for their annual holiday offering with orchestra on December 6th, 2026. This year’s theme, titled Under the Tree, is a fun flurry of carols and nostalgic melodies that reflect something of both the excitement for Christmas morning, and its array of colorful treasures strewn under the tree. We will also be including traditional favorites like O Holy Night, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and White Christmas. Additionally, we are introducing some new selections like You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch, and Walking in the Air
from The Snowman.
 We welcome interested singers at a Meet and Greet at 6:30 PM followed by an informational meeting and open rehearsal on Monday, September 14th, 2026 at the First Congregational Church, 300 High Street, Bristol. Subsequent meetings will be on Mondays from 7 PM to 9PM at the same location with open rehearsals continuing on September 21st and the 28th. Nominal ability to read music always helps, but a good ear and a desire to learn are more important! The Chorus is in need of bases and tenors. Dues are $50 per semester.
