Community String Project Registration Night- Wednesday, September 10, 2014
6:00p.m., Mt. Hope High School located at 199 Chestnut Street in Bristol, RI.
CSP is a non-profit organization that offers affordable and accessible violin,
viola, cello, and bass group lessons for youth and adults in the East Bay area
and beyond.
Classes begin the week of September 23, 2014.
Registration must be received by Sep. 10th to insure delivery of instrument the first week of class.
Grades 3 to 5 receive lessons twice per week after school in their own school building:
Guiteras - Tues/Thurs 3:30 to 4:20;
Colt Andrews - Tues/Thurs 4:40 to 5:30;
Rockwell - Wed/Fri 4:30 to 5:20;
Hugh Cole - Wed/Fri 3:10 to 4:00.
The Middle School Orchestra (grades 6 to 8) meets on Thursdays at First Congregational
Church in Bristol from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Private instruction offered every other week with this program.
The High School String Ensemble (two years experience required) meets at Byfield School on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:00 p.m.
Private instruction offered every other week with this program.
Adult classes meet at the First Congregational Church in the evenings:
Beginning - Tues, 6 to 7:40;
Intermediate - Tues, 7:45 to 9:25;
Advanced String Ensemble- Thurs. 7:20- 9:00;
Advanced Chamber Ensemble- Thurs. 7:30 to 9:10.
Lessons cost $190 for the fall semester Sep. 23, 2014- Jan. 23, 2015
Grades 3 to 12 may use a CSP instrument for a $40 maintenance fee.
Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch receive free lessons and pay $20 for instrument use (must present approved documentation). Others may apply for financial aid.
Adults who do not own their own instrument may choose to rent from a
music store or select instruments are available through CSP.
