THE OLDHAM KIDS CONTINUE WITH LUNCHES FOR THE NEEDY.

The students of Oldham Elementary School in Riverside are making lunches for the needy… this time students from
Friday classes making lunches were Mrs. Popolillo grade 2 and Mrs. Goggin grade 4. As with each session, a host of other staff members, faculty and other concerned folks contributed their time to help prepare lunches for the needy another all-around win/win success. Other folks pitching in were; Mrs. Beth Sudley; Mrs. Joanne Damiano; Mrs. Debra Popolillo; Ms. Norbury; Mr. Anthony Guglielmi and Mrs. Damiano working together..

Bag lunches include baloney and cheese and complete as parents and staff have baked and purchased sweet treats to include with each lunch and all to the Emmanuel House in Providence, Rhode Island and will serve more than 65 needy and homeless folks. Lunches have been made available with funds from the P.T.A. proceeds from popcorn sales which are covering the expense and with the destination of Mr. Carl Sweeney, a local town patron and devotee to families via the Emmanuel House.
Each Friday, the Oldham Elementary School Learning Community will prepare lunches for their homeless neighbors and this past friday students from Mrs. Popolillo grade 2 and Mrs. Goggin grade 4 class to assembled lunches. All while stressing the lesson of showing kindness and being in service to others, and students at Oldham have also decided to collect personal toiletries for our neighbors in need. Parents and staff have baked and purchased sweet treats to include with each lunch. It is important to note how funding for this activity came about as it has been provided by our children with Popcorn sales each Friday to our children in the cafeteria.
