Help Food Bank Win $60K by Voting on Facebook

With a couple of clicks on Facebook, you could help the Rhode Island Community Food Bank win a $60,000 grant in the Fight Hunger Spark Change competition. You can vote once a day through October 5 here: www.walmart.com/fighthunger. Just enter “RI” in the search box.

This is a nationwide competition that will award $60,000 grants to the 50 food banks with the highest number of votes on Oct. 5. There are only 200 food banks in the competition, so Rhode Island has a one-in-four chance of winning. Your vote could make the difference!

Three of the Food Bank’s member agencies will receive $5,000 grants if the RI Food Bank wins: East Bay Food Pantry in Bristol, Tapin in Barrington and the Jonnycake Center of Westerly. They will use the grants to purchase foods for people with special dietary concerns, like diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
