RWU Alumna Stars on ABC's 'The Bachelor'
A Roger Williams University graduate will appear on the newest season of 'The Bachelor.'
Every season producers from ABC's reality television show "The Bachelor" pick a number of men and women to star in their hit series. This season, a alumna will be amongst dozens of women vying for the attention of one man.
According to Roger Williams University, Rachel Truehart, 27, of Southampton, MA, graduated in 2006 with a double major in marketing and psychology. Truehart is one of 25 women who have been competing since the season first aired on Jan. 2.
According to an article on Wetpaint.com, Truehart quit her job as a fashion sales rep. in New York to join the show and recently got her first one-on-one date with the show's bachelor, Ben Flajnik. On her date, Truehart was whisked away in a helicopter and the two went on a romantic canoe ride and picnic in the wilderness. On that date, Truehart receive her rose guaranteeing her spot on the show for another week.

But Truehart is not Bristol's only claim to fame in the world of reality television. , Jackie Gordon, formerly of Bristol, was sitting behind the same lens as Truehart .
Hearing the news of a new contestant with local ties, Gordon offers her advice to Truhart and any woman who may appear on "The Bachelor."

"Be true to who you are and don't take things too seriously," Gordon says. "You need to have thick skin at points to deal with criticism that can come with being in the spotlight. But as long as you are who you are and act accordingly, it can be a very positive experience."
