• Charlestown Climate Resiliency Commission launches aquifer resilience initiative (thewesterlysun.com) — Charlestown's Climate Resiliency Commission is launching a new Aquifer Resilience Initiative to better understand and protect the town's groundwater, which many residents rely on for private and public wells. After hearing widespread reports of well and water issues, the commission is drafting a detailed study of Charlestown's aquifer, partnering with URI, state agencies, and the U.S. Geological Survey to guide future development and water decisions.
   

• Rhode Island rural health projects take shape with $156M federal award • Rhode Island Current (rhodeislandcurrent.com) — Charlestown is one of 18 Rhode Island communities eligible for a share of $156 million in new federal rural health funding, aimed at improving access to doctors, dentists, behavioral health, and mobile or community-based care. State officials are still deciding how to deploy programs like mobile clinics, school-based services, and nutrition support, and are seeking feedback before final plans are set.
