RI Seeks Resident Input for Rural Mobile Health Clinics

Charlestown and 17 other communities are being considered as state officials seek public feedback

Rhode Island is seeking input from residents and healthcare professionals as the state plans mobile health clinics intended to bring medical care directly to rural communities.

The effort is funded through the Rural Health Transformation Grant. Organizers are asking residents to help identify which services the clinics should offer, where they should stop and what days and times would make them most accessible.

Charlestown is among 18 Rhode Island communities targeted for the initiative, along with Burrillville, East Greenwich, Exeter, Foster, Glocester, Hopkinton, Jamestown, Little Compton, New Shoreham, North Smithfield, Portsmouth, Richmond, Scituate, Smithfield, Tiverton, West Greenwich and Westerly.

Residents can access the survey here: Complete the resident survey.

Healthcare professionals who serve patients in these communities are also being asked to provide feedback.

Healthcare professionals can find more information here: Healthcare professional questions.

The feedback is intended to help planners determine how mobile clinics can best serve residents in communities identified for the program.

For Charlestown and other rural Rhode Island communities, the planning process offers residents an opportunity to share what would make local healthcare services more accessible.
