Coventry Man Charged With Possessing Child Pornography: Police

COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry man was charged with possessing child pornography.

Marvin Mitchell, 79, was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Sept. 23 by the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the state police said in a media release.

Mitchell was processed at the Wickford Barracks and taken to Third Division District Court, according to the release.

"Mr. Mitchell was arraigned before the Honorable Magistrate Joseph P. Ippolito where bail was set at $10,000 personal recognizance, with the special conditions of limited internet access and no contact with minors," the release said.
