Army To Train Near Coventry
Any booms tonight may be from military training exercises, the police department said Tuesday.

COVENTRY, RI — The U.S. Army and Coventry / West Warwick SWAT Team will conduct training Tuesday night at the Army National Guard Base on Read Schoolhouse Road, Coventry police said. The exercises start around 4:30 p.m. and could be noisy. This training may include the use of Blackhawk helicopters, police said. Residents should anticipate noise, including loud bangs and simulated weapons fire. The police department does plan to send CodeRED information calls beforehand, so people in the immediate vicinity know this will be occurring.
