In town traffic design / use failures

Traffic FAILURE

I've read enough blogs on Coventry Patch about how the Laurel Ave. bridge closure has hampered flow just about everywhere in town, and I agree. But, there are far more dangerous issues a hand. Post a patrol car in CVS parking lot, and ticket people who use the ONE WAY drive thru behind the building as their personal two way race track between Tiogue and Wood St. Also the entrance to Rite-Aid next to Santoro's should only be an entrance westbound ONLY! People travelling eastbound have people driving 35+ behind them when they decide to lock up and stop dead in the left lane to turn into Rite-Aid, only to be held up by two lanes of traffic heading west. So many near misses and people playing traffic cop letting people out into people flying by they can't even see. We also have the morons who come out of Wood St. that see the light red at the intersection, and whip through the Rite-Aid parking lot doing 40, and fly out the other side near Santoro's. If you use the entrance on Sandy Bottom, it's so much safer from ANY direction. Nobody listens, nobody gives a crap," I'll drive the way I want to, end of discussion". Laws preventing texting are doing NOTHING! I see it more now than ever before. I just don't understand wtf is SO important, I think way more tickets need to be issued to set a an example.
