The Goal is Soul!

Over the next months I'll be introducing you to (or reminding you of) some of our great local non-profit organizations and I think Coventry Patch is a great way to do it!

My Patch story starts out like most, someone told me about it so I decided to check it out. I loved it. It's like listening to people chatting in line at or outside of Summit General. Now instead of hearing what happened at the School Committee meeting second hand from someone's status on facebook, we can go and read an account of what happened! Instead of hearing a family friend's account of how big a soccer star his daughter is at , we get a more accurate story, fantastic!  Looks like Jenna might not be the first woman to ever play on Manchester United.

As I kept reading I noticed that the editor's contact info was on the page and she was looking for story ideas.  You see, I found this to be a good thing because I like any news organization that takes the time to involve it's readers, and I had a story that I wanted to tell.

I won't rewrite  but if you click on the underlined words in this sentence you'll find the article that Lauren wrote about my mother Georgianna and the non-profit that's been started in her honor (facebook group).  Our small non-profit saw a pretty big boost in interest from the article.  We were the number one story for a few days in March and even got the attention of Congressman James Langevin. 

Anyway, my hope is that this blog helps us all find a local non-profit to support and work with as I find people and causes to profile!
