Town of Coventry Financial Town Meeting

Dear fellow Coventry taxpayers,

My name is James M. Sullivan, I urge all taxpayers to attend the Town of Coventry Financial Town Meeting.  The meeting will be held June 11, 2013 7:00 PM, Coventry High School auditorium.  

The proposed budget needs to be defeated. If approved, we are facing a 3.5% tax increase.  What also needs to considered is the town will be doing a property re-evaluation this year, to be completed by December 31, 2013.  The financial future of our town is grave.  Our unfunded liability stands at $100 million. One subject that will not be discussed at the meeting will be the Central Coventry Fire District, that is a separate issue.  

Please attend the meeting and vote NO on the proposed budget.  Thank you.
