Coventry Boy Donates Lemonade Stand Profits to RI Food Bank

Parents are used to getting after their children to keep up with their summer reading assignments, let alone doing something with initiative like running a lemonade stand.

Enter D’Anthony MacLeod of Coventry, who spent a chunk of time in July selling lemonade and on Friday, he walked into the Rhode Island Community Food Bank with $100 fo his earnings to donate.

That’s enough money to buy 300 pounds of food for local families that need it.

“I am so proud of my son,” his mother, Roxanne said. “This was all his idea.”

The Food Bank praised MacLeod on their Facebook page, saying he “enchanted” them today when he showed up with his donation.
