Town of Coventry Seeks Public Works Director

Applications are now being accepted by Town Manager Tom Hoover.

 

The Town of Coventry is currently seeking a Public Works Director to fill a vacancy left by longtime DPW Superintendent Dennis Smith when he retired in December. 

The position requires the administration of 50 employees, 200 miles of streets and highways, and over 64 square miles land area. Responsibilities include the administration of DPW including engineering, building construction, highway, sanitation, roads and bridges and vehicle maintenance. Coordinating with outside contractors and town departments; human resource administration and supervision, budget and capital management are also duties.

Candidate consideration requires bachelors in civil engineering, business administration or similar discipline with five to seven years responsible experience with emphasis on administration of site-work and construction. Beginning salary range $78-90,000.
