Congressman Jim Langevin to Launch "Rise Tour" to Build Skilled Economy with a Visit to Coventry High School

Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) is launching a Rhode Island’s Skilled Economy (RISE) Tour to advocate for initiatives and create partnerships that will help address the inability of employers to find workers able to fit the needs of expanding industries.

At this first event, Langevin will hold a forum on Perkins Act funding, which gives students access to the latest technology, equipment and training to prepare them for high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand fields. He will also announce a bipartisan initiative he is spearheading to restore federal resources that the school needs.
