Poll: Is the Federal Mandate to Purchase Insurance a Violation of Our Liberties?

In a historical decision this morning, the Supreme Court voted 5-4 to uphold Obama's health care law which was enacted in 2010.

Under the , otherwise known as Obamacare, starting in 2014, you must be enrolled in a health insurance plan that meets basic minimum standards. If you do not enroll in a plan, you may be required to pay a penalty. 

By 2016, the fine for non-compliance could reach up to $2000 per family.

Citizens who fall under income requirements will have access to Medicaid, which will be expanded under the plan. 

Supporters of the plan say this will reduce the hidden cost of uninsured patients, which is currently absorbed by taxpayers. 

Some opponents say it is a violation of our individual liberties.
