Town Council President Declares State of Emergency in Coventry

The declaration goes into effect immediately.

At 1:10 p.m. on Friday, Town Council President Gary Cote declared a State of Emergency due to the impending hurricane:

"In accordance with Section 3.09 of the Town of Coventry Home Rule Charter, entitled Declare State of Emergency, as President of the Coventry Town Council I hereby declare a state of emergency effective immediately."
