Another Promising Day For RI's Coronavirus Positivity Rate
The daily percent positivity rate was 3.2 percent, beating last week's nearly three-month record of 3.5 percent.

PROVIDENCE, RI โ For the second day in a row, Rhode Island's percent positivity rate passed a promising milestone. Tuesday's daily rate was 3.2 percent, the lowest rate in nearly three months.
The milestone comes just one day after the state recorded its lowest weekly percent positivity rate since November, falling below the safe threshold of 5 percent for the first time in 2021.

Last Thursday, the daily rate was 3.5 percent, a number praised by both Gov. Gina Raimondo and Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, the director of the Rhode Island Department of Health.

"Thank you, Rhode Island," Raimondo tweeted at the time. "We're on a good path. Keep wearing your mask, sticking with your household and getting tested often. The end is in sight."
Alexander-Scott said that although "signs are all going in the right direction," Rhode Islanders must remain vigilant โ continuing to wear face masks, wash hands frequently, practice social distancing and only gather with members of the immediate household.
