BankNewport Gives $28K Grant To Cranston Alzheimer’s Nonprofit

CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston nonprofit received a $27,000 grant from BankNewport.

The Hope Alzheimer’s Center in Cranston will use the grant money to help provide structured programming and activities to improve the health and well-being of those with Alzheimer’s and other cognitive disorders.

"As a true community bank, supporting those who support our neighbors is essential to our mission," BankNewport CEO Jack Murphy said in a statement. "We are extremely proud to contribute to the nonprofit community throughout Rhode Island who perform tireless and selfless work to care for those in need."

The Hope Alzheimer's Center was founded in 1995 to provide a safe, caring, therapeutic, and enjoyable health program for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory disorders.

"We are extraordinarily grateful to Bank Newport for their generosity, which has allowed us to enhance our therapeutic activity program with musical entertainment and various art and exercise classes," The center's CEO Ellen Grizzetti said. "These types of programs improve quality of life for our participants and provide peace of mind for their dedicated caregivers."
