West would add two insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th, when Matt McCool doubled to right field, extending the lead to 8-4. McCool led the offense for the Falcons, as he went 4 for 4 on the day.
Hayden pitched five innings, allowed four runs, struck out seven, and gave up three hits.
Rob Malo, coach for the Falcons, spoke about his team's propensity for slow starts. "We were a little flat to start the game," he said, "I have been trying to stress the point that we have to have intensity for all seven innings regardless of the opponent."
"I was looking for more intensity, because Carnevale [Townies starter] beat us earlier in the season," the coach added.
