BASICS Nets $7,500 from Pinkberry Fundraiser
BASICS — Benefitting All Children in Cranston Schools — collected $7,584.92 from the fundraiser sponsored by Pinkberry last week.
Last Thursday, the city came out for Pinkberry frozen yogurt. On a normal day, that wouldn't be newsworthy. But last week, the crowds that went through doors did something special to the tune of $7,584.92.
The frozen yogurt shop donated 100 percent of its sales — not profits, but sales — for the entire day to BASICS — a volunteer-based group of parents, educators and Cranston residents who have worked hard to buoy the Cranston Public School District's music program, which has been sidelined by cuts in recent years.
Jeff Gale told the City Council on Monday that "the lines were out the door" as "people wanted to come in and support music in Cranston schools."

I hope that Pinkberry has many many new groupies!!" Kelleher wrote on BASIC's Facebook Page. "If the product wasn't delicious enough... the generosity they showed to us should keep us all going back every day! thank you, thank you, thank you!"
