Newton Kittavong got the scoring started for the Villa Novans, finding the right corner of the net off a turnover, giving Woonsocket a 1-0 lead in the first minute.
Sebastian Mercado found Cody L'Hereux for the header in the 4th minute, and Woonsocket would add two more in the first fifteen minutes of play to give them a commanding 4-0 lead.

Cranston East had few opportunities in the first half, none of which could be finished. The Thunderbolts were slow to the ball and indecisive when they got into Villa Novan territory.
The speed and passing of Woonsocket continued to overwhelm the Bolts in the second half, as they netted four second half goals. By the sixty-minute mark both teams were moving players around and giving younger players some time, as the result was not in question.

Dennis Vasquez floated one over the goalie's head late in the game to get East on the board, but they fell 8-1 to an impressive Woonsocket squad who's peaking at the right time.
The Villa Novans have won their last two and because of their 7-7-2 record they are in the playoffs, as all .500 teams make the playoffs.
"We have some injuries right now so it'll be good to have a week off before the playoffs start. But we are going to have to be a little bit better offensively if we want to advance," Woonsocket Coach Andrew Rao said.
It was another disappointing loss for the Thunderbolts as they remain winless at 0-14-1. The good news for East fans is that this is not a senior laden squad, so these players will have another year to improve and bring success to Cranston East soccer.
Cranston East will have one final chance to secure a win when they travel to Mount St. Charles on Friday to round out their schedule.
