Boys Soccer: Quakers Shake Up and Defeat Falcons
Cranston West is defeated by Moses Brown 3-1.
Moses Brown's boys soccer team traveled to Hope Road's Athletic Complex to take on the Cranston West Falcons on Tuesday afternoon. West was looking to pick up their first win of the season, but they were unable to hold on to a 1-0 lead, eventually falling 3-1.
The Falcons started out strong and had many chances to take the lead. West was controlling the action and time of possession was in their favor in the beginning stages of the game.
Junior Chris Burrows crossed the ball to senior Koye Idowu, who had made a run to the far post and he buried it home, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead, about midway through the first half.

Moses Brown rebounded quickly, tying the score at one eight minutes later. The ball was bouncing in West's penalty area and senior Greg Boland blasted the shot into the back of the net.
The score would remain tied heading into the halftime break. To begin the second half, the Quakers were creating scoring chances and dictating the pace of the game.

About 15 minutes into the second half, Talman Bigelow gave Moses Brown the lead with his shot from inside the penalty area.
During the last twenty minutes of the game, West picked up their intensity. They began to dominate possession and were attacking the Quakers net consistently.
Finishing plays and scoring goals has been an issue for the Falcons all year long, as they have scored 4 goals in 8 games, and it continued to plague them on Tuesday. Despite several golden opportunities to tie the score at 2, they were unable to capitalize on them.
Moses Brown began to pick up their play in the last five minutes, and both teams were creating scoring chances. With only one minute left in the game, the Quakers sophomore Dan Harrington put the nail in the coffin. He received a pass from senior Will Frey and buried the shot into the back of the net.
They won the game 3-1 and improve to 4-3 on the season. The Falcons remain winless, and the loss drops them to 0-6-1. West plays Cranston East on Thursday afternoon. The Thunderbolts have not recorded a victory yet either.
