Boys Tennis: Thunderbolts Defeat Hurricanes

Cranston East picks up a late season win against Warwick Vets

The Cranston East Thunderbolts (2-8)  beat the Warwick Vets Hurricanes (0-10) in a boys tennis match at Park View Middle School on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hurricanes were forced to forfeit three doubles matches because some of their players could not attend the match. As a result, the Thunderbolts needed to win only one of the four singles matches, to defeat the Hurricanes. They managed to win two of them, thus winning the match 5-2.

All four matches were won in straight sets. Thunderbolts senior Arthur Vezikov defeated Tensho Yano 6-2, 6-3, clinching the match for Cranston East. East senior Victor Li lost his match in straight sets against Vets captain Christian Valladolid.
