CLCF 9s Win Cal Ripken Tourney Opener

They play again Sunday at 2 p.m. and hope to secure the state title.

CLCF's 9-year-old Cal Ripken baseball team is one step closer to being champs.

They beat a strong West Warwick team at Ricci Field last night, 6-5, with Dante DuRuosi and Jason Patalano combining strong pitching efforts for the win.

Alex Marot hit a clutch 2-run double and Jake San Antonio helped secure the win with a key defensive play to end a bases loaded situation, said Steve Richard, head of CLCF.
