Coronavirus In RI: 269 New Cases, 7 Deaths
For the second day in a row, Rhode Island saw a decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases reported.

PROVIDENCE, RI โ The number of new cases of the coronavirus reported in Rhode Island decreased slightly Monday compared to days prior. The Rhode Island Department of Health announced 269 new cases, down from 311 new cases the day before.
There were also seven additional deaths, bringing the total to 233. To date, there have been 7,708 cases of coronavirus in Rhode Island. As of Monday, 266 people were in the hospital, 56 of whom require a ventilator. Gov. Gina Raimondo said previously that the relatively steady number of hospitalizations is a good sign that the state may soon be able to slowly begin the reopening process.
After several record-breaking days of new cases, there were decreases in the number of new cases reported Sunday and Monday, though it is too soon to determine if it will be a continuing trend.
