Cranston Man Accused Of $1500 Check Fraud

Management at the East Providence branch of Consolidated Concrete reached out to the suspect with a certified letter before police action.

CRANSTON, RI — State police charged a Cranston man Tuesday morning with writing a fraudulent check of over $1,500 to a business in East Providence.

Management at the East Providence branch of the regionally-based concrete company, Consolidated Concrete reached out to Carlos Roque, 45, of Cranston with a certified letter that his check bounced, State Police Captain Derek Borek said.

According to Borek, police wait usually about 30 days after the initial letter before making an arrest. He said Roque was charged after the waiting period.

Roque was brought to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment.
