Cranston PD Ask For Public's Help In IDing Bank Robbery Suspect

CRANSTON, RI — Cranston police are looking for the public's assistance in identifying the person accused of robbing a bank Thursday afternoon. The man, who was wearing a face mask, slipped a note to the teller and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The incident happened at the Citizens Bank at 1850 Plainfield pike just after 12 p.m., police said. The man was by himself and did not present a weapon. No injuries were reported. After giving the teller the note, the teller handed over the cash and he left through a side door, heading north towards the intersection of Plainfield Pike and Route 295.

The suspect was described as a white man in a gray sweat suit, wearing a surgical face mask, as well as a black "Champion" ball cap. He was approximately 5 feet, 9 inches, police said, with a stocky build.
