Cranston's Jackvony is Bay View's Top Student
Taylor Jackvony finished the school year as the top graduating senior at St. Mary Acadmey-Bay View in East Providence.

Taylor Jackvony, Valedictorian for the Bay View Academy Class of 2012, is a gifted young woman who is optimistic, enthusiastic and has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and peers. She has received numerous academic awards including the Harvard University Book Award last spring. Taylor is a member of the Rhode Island Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, the Excalibur Honor Society and served as President of the National Honor Society.
She is a well rounded student and a leader both in and out of the classroom. Taylor has been a member of the Bay View Academy Basketball Team since her freshman year and served as a captain this past season.
In the fall, Taylor will attend Williams College and plans to major in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience.

SALUTATORIAN: SAMANTHA PAUL, Pawtucket, RI
Samantha Paul, Salutatorian for the Bay View Academy Class of 2012 and a National Merit Scholarship finalist, is a young woman whose gifts and talents are many. In addition to her academic achievements, she is an accomplished musician. A member of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Symphony, Samantha has received Rhode Island All-State Orchestra recognition as a violist.
In addition, Samantha has served as a Teen Ambassador to the Women’s Health Advisory Committee of Rhode Island. Samantha has been an integral member of the committee, bringing awareness of women’s health issues to her community.

In the fall, Samantha will be attending Brown University as a student in the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), an eight year program combining a liberal arts education at Brown with medical education at Brown’s Alpert Medical School
THIRD RANKED SENIOR: YEE JUNG KIM, Warwick, RI
Yee Jung is a dedicated student who has explored numerous opportunities to further her education, particularly in the sciences. Yee Jung was a participant in the Research Science Institute, which is sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Education in collaboration with MIT. Outside of the classroom, she has spent many hours as a member of both the Rhode Island Philharmonic Community Flute Ensemble and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Repertory Orchestra. Yee Jung has also been a member of the Varsity Tennis Team and served as a captain this past fall.
Yee Jung will attend Brown University in the fall and will major in Neuroscience.
