This year, on Sunday November 23, 2014 Delivering Hope will begin their annual tradition of bringing hope to Rhode Island families in the form of baskets filled with delicious organic vegetables, fruits, baking ingredients, a miniature Christmas tree, reusable table cloth, Anthony Robbins’ book Notes from a Friend and an Organic Free Range Turkey donated by Whole Foods Cranston.
Steven Carlson who has spearheaded the project with his team consisting of Claudia Carlson, Dawn Beauchemin and Amanda Repose are excited that this year Delivering Hope will be delivering over 100 Baskets to the families of Rhode Island “Our story began with a single family. The ultimate vision was to alter their lives for just one day by delivering an organic Thanksgiving Food basket for the holiday. We wanted a way to honor this family who truly deserved a moment free from worry. We wanted to give them our support. We wanted to remind them that life is working for us not against us and that we are grateful for their constant effort every day. We chose organic because we wanted to give them the same quality of food that we would choose for ourselves. The powerful impact that this one family had on our Thanksgiving transformed into 7 the following year and 14 the next until we found ourselves with another vision of delivering 500 baskets by the year 2017!”
Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State, Deborah Saunders, had this to say, “We are so proud to be working with Delivering Hope this year. Steven and his team reached out to us in September and let us know he was able to supply 40 of our families with these baskets that will bring the community we service, hope and an amazing meal this Thanks giving. I can honestly say, this year, we are truly thankful for Delivering Hope. “
