East Secures Mayor's Cup in 27-6 Win over West
The Cranston East Thunderbolts secured a No. 3 playoff seed with their win against their city rival, the Cranston West Falcons.
The Cranston East Thunderbolts beat the Cranston West Falcons 26-7 on Thanksgiving Day, securing the mayor's cup and a No. 3 seed in the Division I playoffs.
The two teams entered the game each having won 20 games against their rivals in the annual series. With the win, the 'Bolts got the edge, which means the Falcons will have to win next year to tie it up again.
East ended their season with a 6-2 Division I record and they are now tied with Hendricken and Portsmouth in the standings.

East plays Hendricken, the No. 2 seed, on Nov. 27 at Hendricken in the semifinal round.

"The kid ran the hundred in a faster time than the players," Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung said on Twitter.ย
