
As part of a continuing series in support of the Reading Across Rhode Island 2012 selection "Caleb's Crossing" (Geraldine Brooks), Brown University professor Linford Fisher will be speaking on the subject of religion and education among Native American in colonial New England. This presentation will look at the wider series of religious and educational engagements by Native Americans and how this history continues to shape the present.
Linford D. Fisher is an Assistant Professor of History at Brown University. His forthcoming book is titled "The Indian Great Awakening: Religion and the Shaping of Native Cultures in Early America."
