Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Free Seminar: "Welcome Back, Facilitating the School Experience for Childhood Cancer Surviviors."
The RI Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is hosting a series of free professional education programs for schoolteachers, nurses, social workers, guidance counselors, administrators and parents.
The first seminar entitled "Welcome Back, Facilitating the School Experience for Childhood Cancer Survivors," will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Conference Room #151. Registration begins at 4:00 p.m.
The goal of this seminar is to "educate school personnel and parents on the cognitive and late effects of childhood cancer treatment to improve the transition of childhood cancer survivors from clinic to classroom."
