The RI Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is currently holding its annual "Pennies for Patients" fundraising drive where schoolchildren bring in spare change to their classrooms to donate over a 3-week period. This year's drive is taking place March 7 thru March 25, 2011. Schools, however, can participate during any three weeks that work best for them.

Cranston Sr. High School East, a participant since 2005
Cranston Sr. High School West, a participant since 2000
Doric Day Nursery School, a participant since 2009
Edward S. Rhodes Elementary School, a participant since 2000
Hope Highlands Elementary School, a participant since 2003
Hugh B. Bain Middle School, a participant since 2010
Oak Lawn Elementary School, a participant since 2002
Park View Middle School, a participant since 2000
Robyn's Nest Home Daycare, a participant since 2007
St Paul School, a participant since 2000
Stadium Elementary School, a participant since 2004
Stone Hill Elementary School, a participant since 2004
Western Hills Middle School, a participant since 2006
Woodridge Elementary School, a participant since 2002

In 2010, 190 schools throughout Rhode Island, 96,000 students, participated in this fun and educational program and raised $247,848. Our Rhode Island Chapter has had the highest percentage of participating schools nationally for the last several years.
