RIFC's Improv Acting for Film Class

Back by popular demand, this time for 8 sessions, with a greater emphasis on comedy, this class concentrates on improv techniques that strengthen character choices, consistency and dialogue skills.  This course will focus on preparing the student to participate in a film written through improv, or relying heavily on improvisational directorial methods. This class will incorporate a variety of improv techniques that are applicable to stage, film and writing sessions. This class just ran, but the participants had such a good time, they asked to have it run again. You do not have to have taken the preceding class to take this one - it will be geared toward all experience levels.

Instructor Melissa Bowler is an improviser, actor, theater arts instructor and producer of the Providence Improv Fest.  She performs with Improv Jones, The Empire Revue and The Trumans.  She has taught improv in numerous venues including Perishable Theater, Bryant University and Hasbro Hospital.

Cost: $160 for all eight sessions
