Fall Is Here In Rhode Island: Long Range Forecast

RHODE ISLAND — It's not too early to drink pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin beers and start prepping for Halloween anymore: fall has arrived in New England, at least in a weather sense.

The long-range forecast published Thursday by the National Weather Service shows a low chance of above-average temperatures, and very normal levels of rain over the next two weeks.

Over the next two weeks, there's only about a 40 percent chance of warmer-than-usual temperatures. Precipitation is dead center at 0 percent chance of above or below average rain, according to the Climate Prediction Center.

The long-range forecast should come as no surprise after temperatures fell into the 50s across parts of the state Friday. And up north, Mt. Washington, even got a taste of winter with a deep freeze overnight Thursday.
