First I-95 Thurbers Ave. Lane Shift In Place
The first lane closure will be in place for one week.
PROVIDENCE, RI — The first of several rotating lane closures on Interstate 95 in Providence goes into place on Friday. The lane shifts will be in place throughout July and August as crews work to replace the Oxford Street Bridge deck near the Thurbers Avenue exits.
The first lane shift, Phase Two of the project, will shift traffic to have three lanes to the left and one to the right. It will be in place for just one week until Phase Three begins on July 26.
Exit 18, Thurbers Avenue, will only be accessible from the far-right lane on I-95 South.
