Flash Flood Warning Extended To Southern Rhode Island
The National Weather Service now has flash flood warnings for Washington, Newport, Kent, Southern Providence, and Bristol Counties.

The flash flood warning originally in place for Providence County and Northwestern Rhode Island has been extended to Southern Rhode Island.

Significant urban and poor drainage flash flooding is expected during this afternoon. Some small streams may also rise out of their banks. Expect significant flooding in the following towns:

- Cranston
- Pawtucket
- Providence
- East Providence
- North Providence
- Coventry
- North Kingstown
- South Kingstown
- West Warwick
- Newport
- Bristol
Bands of torrential rain started in Northern Massachusetts before gradually shifting south throughout the afternoon eventually reaching Rhode Island. Rainfall totals are expected to reach at least one-to-three inches, but could reach as much as three inches per hours.

The National Weather Service said to monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action in case of flash flooding.
