Flash Floods Possible Amid Heavy Rain In Rhode Island
In the affected Rhode Island counties, 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, 30 mph winds, and thunderstorms are possible.
RHODE ISLAND — Flooding could be an issue in Rhode Island, according to the National Weather Service, who issued flood warnings in several state counties and at least a flood watch for most of the Ocean State.
The National Weather Service issued flashed flood warnings in Bristol, Kent, Providence, and Washington counties, which are expected to last until 3 p.m. Monday. In the affected areas, 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, 30 mph winds, and thunderstorms are possible.
"Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring," the National Weather Service said. "Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall."
