Garden City Art Festival This Weekend

Gaspee Days isn't the only thing happening this weekend.

More than 135 American craftspeople and artists will be at this weekend to sell their wares, share their cuisine and entertain the crowd with music.

It's the Garden City Center Art Festival, and it will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 9 and 10.

The festival will feature items big and small including jewelry, ceramics, paintings, sculpture and home accessories along with locally grown festive food sponsored by .  The event is sponsored by Webster Bank, RI Monthly, Robyn Ivy Photography, Aim High Academy, Coast 93.3, B101, Garden City Center, Whole Foods Market and Natural Awakenings.

“We believe there is an artist in everybody, so we’re creating opportunities for festival attendees to express themselves and experience the thrill of creativity,” said Jennifer Neuguth owner of Festival Fete. 

Garden City Center provides an excellent venue for the art festival with its unique mix of shops and restaurants along with a charming village atmosphere.

“We are thrilled to host this exciting event filled with art, children’s activities, entertainment and music. It will be a delightful experience for Rhode Island families and for our shoppers,” said Janice Pascone marketing director of Garden City Center.

Festival Fete is an organization that promotes locally grown art, food and merriment, according to its website. They combine your typical art fair with strolling entertainment, crafts for children and an opportunity for people attending the festival to create something too. In the end, the result is a special community art project.
