History Trail Coming to Cranston
The first marker is by the Sprague Mansion, but more spots of historic interest are going to be added.

CRANSTON, RI—Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung unveiled a newly-installed historical marker at the Sprague Mansion on Wednesday. The action could be the start of something big. Mayor Fung hopes it will encourage Rhode Islanders to celebrate Cranston’s rich history by connecting to the new Cranston Discovery Network project.
The Cranston Discovery Network will feature signs to mark historical places throughout the city. The signs will point residents and visitors to follow a walkable trail. Additional signs will be installed in the future in neighborhoods and at historical sites across the city. The project was funded by a $15,000 grant from the Rhode Island Foundation and made possible by the hard work from members of the Cranston Historical Society and the Cranston Public Library.
The Sprague Mansion is at 1351 Cranston St., Cranston.
