JV Basketball: Thunderbolts Dominate and Fly Past Falcons
Cranston East defeats Cranston West 85-31
Before the varsity teams matched up on Tuesday night, the junior varsity boys basketball teams for Cranston West and Cranston East battled it out on the court. The Thunderbolts thoroughly dominated the game from start to finish and the result was never in doubt. They won the game 85-31.
After the game was tied at two, Cranston East went on a 9-1 run, opening up an 11-3 lead. The Thunderbolts execution of the full court press was nearly flawless. Because of their solid defense, they forced many turnovers which led to easy transition buckets.
The Falcons Rob Santos knocked down a jumper to bring his team within 17-7 with just over eight minutes left in the first half. However, East seized control of the game with a 16-2 run in the final eight minutes of the half. The Bolts led 36-10 at halftime.

The Thunderbolts speed and athleticism was on full display all night long. They forced mistakes by West and capitalized on them by scoring after the turnovers.
East was in control throughout the second half and the Falcons never made a serious run to turn it into a ball game. The Thunderbolts won the contest 85-31.

East's Jimmy Saab led the team with 18 points. Cranston West was led by Jacob Emerick, who scored 14 points.
