Monday is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Here are some ways to enjoy the holiday.

NEWPORT, RI—Monday is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and Rhode Island has plenty of ways to celebrate the civil rights leader's life and enjoy the holiday.
Here are five suggestions.
1. On Aquidneck Island, the annual torch run steps off at 9 a.m. at Portsmouth's 1st Rhode Island Regiment Monument, the little park where Routes 24 and 114 converge. The route goes down West Main Road through Middletown to Thompson Middle School on Broadway.

2. Inside the Thompson Middle School, in Newport, a program of music and commentary starts at 9:30 a.m.
3. In Woonsocket, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Service starts at 11 a.m. at the MLK Memorial Sculpture Garden, South Main and Mason streets.

4. At the Providence Children's Museum, the whole family can watch the civil rights movement depicted in story and song. "M.L.K: Amazing Grace" is being performed at 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and finally at 2:30 p.m.
5. In Providence, the governor and other dignitaries will attend the annual celebration at 4 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 475 Cranston St.
