New England Tech Grads from Cranston Win Best of Tech Awards

Congrats go to Manuel A. Gonzalez and David M. Cambio for winning a Best of Tech Award for outstanding achievement.

Cranston natives and New England Institute of Technology students Manuel A. Gonzalez and David M. Cambio are winners of a Best of Tech award from the school for outstanding achievement.

Dr. Thomas F. Wylie, Senior Vice President and Provost at New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), announced the Best of Tech award winners in a release.

The award was presented at the college’s fifteenth annual Best of Tech ceremony.

This past year, Cambio received a bachelor's of science in automotive service management technology. Gonzalez earned an associate of science degree in video and audio production technology.

Each year New England Tech’s Office of Teaching and Learning recognizes exceptional students from each of the college’s more than 35 technology programs as well as from humanities and social sciences courses. Best of Tech recipients must have earned their Associate in Science or Bachelor of Science degree in May, 2012.  Additional criteria must be met which includes outstanding academic achievement and GPA, participation in extracurricular activities, overcoming obstacles, and volunteering in their community.

As Wylie stated, “New England Institute of Technology is proud to present the Best of Tech award to our exemplary students for their superior academic achievement, strong leadership skills, as well as their commitment to community causes. These recipients will serve as outstanding role models to the NEIT community.”

Under the leadership of President Richard I. Gouse, New England Institute of Technology is a private, non-profit, technical college with an enrollment of over 3,000 students.
