One Person Injured In Early-Morning Cranston Shooting
Cranston police said there is no need for Pontiac Avenue residents to be concerned for their safety.

CRANSTON, RI — One person was injured in an early-morning shooting in a Pontiac Avenue house on Thursday. Cranston police said the victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were called to 1012 Pontiac Ave. around 3:10 a.m. on Thursday morning following reports of shots fired, Major Todd Patalano said. One person, a man in his 30s, was shot in the upper chest/shoulder area and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for surgery. His injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.
The tow other people in the house, believed to be other residents, are cooperating with police, Patalano said, and the shooting was not random. The area is safe and residents should not be concerned.

No arrests have been made at this time. Patalano said more information will be released to the public after police are able to interview the victim.
